We ha our first bday celebration married - yay!
We were actually more low key than ever. Oh no - we are becoming an old married
couple, haha!
Doug doesn't like attention on his bday - but as soon as our Sunday Funday group found out his bday was the next day - this is what happened ;-)
When we got home I was all wifey and made him this delish and very thoughtful cake. This is all that is left - one piece!
It's a rice crispy cake! Basically rice crispy tests that use cake mix. Doug loves marshmallows and rice crispy treats are another fave so it worked. Recipe was über simple! Here ya go:
Ingredients:
3 Tbsp. butter
1 (10 oz.) bag of mini-marshmallows
1/3 cup yellow cake mix (the dry cake mix, not prepared into a batter!)
6 cups crispy rice cereal
1 (1.75 oz.) container of sprinkles
Method:
Melt butter in a large saucepan over low heat and add marshmallows. Stir until they begin to melt, adding in (dry) cake mix one spoonful at a time so its combined. Stir in cereal so it is completely coated with marshmallow mixture. Sprinkle in half of the sprinkles and mix. Press into a baking dish (any size will do) and top with remaining sprinkles. Let sit for about 30 minutes before cutting.
* I used all GF items so I Coolout enjoy as well *
His bday was actually on that Monday. I had to work, s o he had his first "Mandate Monday" as a married man. "Mandate Monday" is the way he spends his day off with his guy friends. I gave it that name - it's so cute. They have lunch and see a movie. On occasion grab a drink- all while I am at work - so we never miss any time together! You should be a good wifey and let your hubby have one.
Hope you enjoy the recipe!
XoXo
Mrs. Green
